Genuine SuperTech / Massive Speed Bespoke Forged Pistons, Moly Ring Set, and wrist pins. Another MASSIVE EXCLUSIVE DESIGN!!! Install in place of the stock cast pistons, one of the weak areas in the Zetec engines. DONT expect to run anything over 250 flywheel horsepower with stock pistons. Pistons are manufactured from extruded high silicon, enhanced 4032 alloy (with additional Cu, Ni & Mg) that has low thermal expansion, excellent wear resistance and higher thermal conductivity. SuperTech pistons with this alloy have withstood up to 42psi of turbo boost, with alcohol, without any problems. Several heat treatments provide the piston with a high tensile strength and evenly distributed hardness. The pistons are submitted to several machining steps in specially designed machines and in conventional CNC machines with special diamond tools for dimensional precision, perpendicularity and flatness of the ring grooves. Contact reduction grooves are standard. Honed & reamed pin bores for precise fit. Wrist pins are constructed of cold extruded chrome moly steel for high strength to be used with wire clip locks. A 2 or 3 forging steps process yields a fine structural grain oriented in fibers in the same direction of the stresses. Finally a “phosphate dry lubricant” coating is applied to protect the rings against “micro welding” and enhance lubrication on the skirt/cylinder area. Piston Rings are manufactured in Japan with the latest technology for high performance applications. Quality Control is performed after every step of the manufacturing process in climate controlled environments to ensure reliability of dimensions. Installation is best left to a professional. All pistons are made to either a .007” (85mm) or .028” (85.5mm) oversize (85.5 in low comp only). Please specify 8.7:1 (9.25 with SVT head) or 10.6:1 (11.6 with SVT Head) compression ratio.
