JE Forged Piston Sets

Some specs on JE Zetec pistons.  These are available in 2 compression ratios.  A regular Zetec is rated at 9.6:1.  An SVT is rated at 10.2:1.  The below information assumes a regular zetec, so INCREASE the rated compression by approx .5 point if you are installing this in an SVT engine.  

JE 298715 - Bore 85mm, Dish. -8.0cc dish volume.  9.0:1 CR. 303 Gram weight. 

JE 298716 - Bore 85.5mm, Dish.  -8.8cc dish volume.  9.0:1 CR.  310 Gram weight

JE 298717 - Bore 85mm.  Dome.  5.0cc dome volume.  11.0:1 CR.  319 Gram Weight

JE 298718 - Bore 85.5mm.  Dome.  4.5cc Dome Volume.  11.0:1 CR. 324 Gram Weight

 

  • The Zetec pistons will ONLY work with an aftermarket floating pin type forged rod with a 20mm diameter (take a look at the Eagle rods on this site).  They will NOT work with the OEM zetec OR SVT rod.  

 

A word about bore sizes:

 

  • 85mm - a stock Zetec 2.0 found in Focus, Contour, ZX2, etc is 84.8.  When overbored .007", this brings the bore to 85mm
  • 85.5 - Zetec bore to .027" oversize
